Deschutes River 503-927-3676

The Deschutes River cuts central Oregon in half. The lower Deschutes is a blue ribbon river. For 100 miles the river flows north to the Columbia River. Limited access and deep basalt canyons make this an ideal place for a 1 to 5 day float or jet boat adventure. The river offers year round flyfishing adventures for anglers at every skill level.

Deschutes River Redsides (rainbow trout) are wild and they feed on the rivers rich aquatic insect life. The most noted hatches are stone flies in May and June; and the Caddis flies hatch spring through fall. There are also hatches of mayflies starting in the fall but peak in spring and early summer.

Steelhead season starts in July and peaks in September and sometime it fish’s best in November. Flyfishing for summer steelhead has been a main attraction to anglers ever sense it was found how aggressive they are to a fly.

Late summer is a great time to book a trip and sleep under the stars, but when the days are short our heated tent and a hot meal hits the spot. Call for best available dates, fish runs and fly hatches!
